Grant Program Offerings
Golden State Education & Training Grant Program: The California Student Aid Commission has opened up individual student applications for this grant program opportunity. This program is designed to encourage and support individuals who suffered COVID-related job loss to enter, continue and complete college and job training programs. The program was established and funded in the 2021 California Budget Act, mainly with one-time federal COVID recovery dollars, to offer this one-time financial incentive. Half of the funds must go to individuals supporting dependent children.
The Committee on UCR University Extension Scholarships reviews applications for both scholarships quarterly. Scholarship recipients will be notified within four weeks following the quarterly application deadline, if an award will be made for the upcoming quarter.
Typical awards fund course registration fees towards completion of a certificate or program.
Scholarship application deadlines for each quarter:
- Fall: August 15
- Winter: December 1
- Spring: March 1
Summer: May 15
