UCR Extension Scholarships

University of California Riverside Extension is committed to providing extraordinary learning experiences to students of all ages--regionally, nationally, and internationally. The academic and professional programs offered through UCR Extension help individuals advance careers, increase opportunities for economic mobility, and explore personal growth. UCR Extension is pleased to make available scholarship funds to support students in reaching their academic and professional goals. Scholarships are awarded to cover course or program tuition fees.

There are two types of scholarships: The UCR Extension Scholarship for Student Success and The Sue Teele Education Extension Award Endowed Fund. There is a limit of one award per scholarship type, per person.

UCR Extension Scholarship for Student Success

Scholarships can be used to cover the costs of courses in certificate programs that span all academic areas. View eligibility requirements.

The Sue Teele Education Extension Award Endowed Fund

Resources for the Sue Teele Education Extension Endowed Fund are currently unavailable. Please consider applying for the UCR Extension Student Success Scholarship.

Scholarships can be used to cover the costs specific to teachers seeking studies in Education or Credential programs. The Sue Teele Education Extension Award Endowed Fund was established and funded by Sue Teele, Ph.D., in an effort to support the educational goals of teachers in the local community. During her decades-long tenure as Director of UCR Extension's Education and Credential Programs, Dr. Sue Teele devoted her efforts toward providing the highest-quality educational experiences for classroom teachers. View eligibility requirements.

The Committee on UCR Extension Scholarships reviews applications for both scholarships quarterly. Scholarship recipients will be notified within four weeks following the quarterly application deadline, if an award will be made for the upcoming quarter.

Typical awards fund course registration fees towards completion of a certificate or program.

Scholarship application deadlines for each quarter:

  • Fall: August 15
  • Winter: December 1
  • Spring: March 1
  • Summer: May 15
