Admissions and Transfer Requirements

We are committed to helping any student who wishes to be considered for re-admission to UCR or another UC. Even if you do not currently meet the admission requirements, you are still eligible for full support and access to services provided by the initiative.

Our Degree Completion Advisors will work closely with you to help you become eligible, regardless of where you are at in your journey. Your pathway to meeting the program requirements will be individualized, and while each student's path may look different, we will utilize all available resources and tools to help you achieve your goals.

Eligibility Requirements by Pathway

  • Seeking Bachelor’s Degree via Readmission
    • Former UCR students
    • Must have been previously admitted and successfully enrolled at least one (1) semester or one (1) quarter during a regular term, and formally withdrew or had a minimum of a 3-quarter lapse
    • Minimum *2.0 GPA (2.5 for readmission into the Bourns College of Engineering)

  • Seeking Bachelor’s Degree via Transfer Admissions
    • California residents with some college and no degree
    • Completed at least 60+ UC transferrable units**
    • Earned a minimum of 2.4 cumulative GPA at 1/ another University of California; or 2/any other institutions

  • Seeking Professional Certificate
    • California resident with some college and no degree from any higher education institution

*Students who did not leave in good standing or do not meet GPA requirements may work towards GPA improvements via concurrent enrollment courses prior to readmission.

Submit your Readmissions or Transfer Application

When you are ready to submit your application, your Degree Completion Advisor will walk you through the process. Once you submit your application, your Degree Completion Advisor will get you set up with your main campus Academic and Financial Aid advisors.

Financial Aid Advising

Your Degree Completion Advisor will help you connect with a Financial Aid Counselor who can discuss your eligibility for financial aid and scholarship opportunities. You will have ongoing access to personal financial planning for the duration of your time in the degree completion program. *

*Federal Financial Aid is not available to students seeking certificate completion. Students seeking certificate completion may be eligible for donor-supported tuition discounts and certificate completion audit fees.

Academic Advising with College/School and Major Advisor

Your advisor will recommend which courses you should register for and will guide you on the registration process.
