Program Requirements

Admission Requirements and Prerequisites:

• Open Enrollment: There are no formal prerequisite courses or admission applications required for individual course registration.
• Recommended Background: Courses are designed at an introductory-to-intermediate professional level; a foundational background or interest in science, engineering, or environmental policy (AA/BS or equivalent experience) is recommended.

Completion Requirements:

• Complete all modules within the self-paced online course.
• Successfully complete all automated knowledge-check quizzes after each module and pass the final course evaluation quiz.
• Complete the brief post-course evaluation survey.
• Claim your UCR Professional and Global Education Digital Badge and CEUs.

How it Works

Step 1: Enroll Online

• Select your desired course from the directory below and click "Enroll Now" to add it to your cart. Create your UCR PGE student account and complete checkout.

Step 2: Activate your NetID

• Within two hours of registering for a course, following receipt of your Enrollment Confirmation, you should receive a second automated email with a Temporary ID, Temporary Password, and instructions to set up your UCR NetID. Check your junk or spam folder for the email. It may take up to 24 hours to activate your NetID, depending on individual circumstances. Visit the NetID webpage to learn more about the process.

Step 3: Complete Asynchronous Coursework

• Access your course via the online Learning Management System (LMS). Complete the 10 flexible, self-paced modules anytime, anywhere, at your own pace. Reinforce your understanding through module quizzes and a final knowledge test.

Step 4: Receive Your Credentials

• Upon successful completion of all course components, your Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and official UCR Professional and Global Education Digital Badge will be released.

Tuition Structure:

• Standard Individual Course Fee: $200 per course.
• Note: Courses earn academic CEUs and may qualify for employer professional development reimbursement programs. Consult with your human resources or benefits department to confirm your organization’s policies and any required documentation before enrolling.

Groups and Cohort Options:

• Corporate and Agency Cohorts: Discounted group rate packages are available for public agencies, air districts, utilities, and corporate teams enrolling employee groups.
• Formal Certificates: Formal physical or digital certificates are available upon request for contracted corporate or agency cohorts for an additional administrative fee.
