Beginner’s introduction to the electric grid and power systems and their components and the grid-integration of renewable energy generation and energy storage resources.
Identify and describe the core concepts and elements in the electric grid;
Gain a basic understanding of electric circuits, voltage, current, and power
Gain a basic understanding of DC and AC and three phase power systems
Gain a basic understanding of renewable energy generation resources
Gain a basic understanding of energy storage resources
Gain a basic understanding of grid-integration of renewable generation and storage.
This course is offered in a self-paced, on-demand format, allowing participants to complete the coursework at their own convenience and pace. Students may access the course materials anytime during the enrollment period and progress through the content according to their individual schedules.
To receive a Certificate of Completion and/or Continuing Education Units (CEUs), participants must:
View all required course content; and
Successfully complete all integrated assessments associated with the course modules.
