About the Course

The course introduces students to the theories and practices of qualitative research methods in the social sciences, especially sociology and anthropology, but also applicable to psychology, marketing, and other disciplines, with or without the use of AI tools. This class will prepare you to conceptualize and design a qualitative research project that would be suitable for these and other social science disciplines. You will read, discuss and practice hands-on social science research methods on a variety of topics in order to better understand the myriad of ways that qualitative research is applied in a variety of practice settings, including business, non-profit, & government agencies.
