About the Course

A program of diversified training and education designed for California Municipal Clerks. The program is based upon the core curriculum requirements of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) and meets IIMC standard requirements of Institute education for CMC Certification. The program offers a balance of 50% technical courses, 30% interpersonal courses and 20% electives, with the goal of allowing particiapting clerks to identify and obtain training that best fits their needs. Among a wide range of topics are: mechanics of local government, the municipal clerk profession, technology in the clerk's office, meeting administration and local government finance; and supervising employees, professional ethics, diversity in organizations, communication skills, negotiation skills, resolving conflict and team/group decision-making.
