About the Course
Gain a working knowledge of the role of a paralegal through an internship position in a law firm, corporate in-house legal office, law-related public agency, or other legal setting. You need to enroll at least 10 weeks in advance to allow time for background checks and placement. This course is offered in fall and spring quarters only. - Work directly under the supervision of an attorney or paralegal in an agency or law firm, as arranged and approved by the Internship Coordinator
- Identify and accomplish individualized learning goals related to legal practice
- Assess and understand the structure of the law office or agency
- Perform substantive tasks and acquire an understanding of the duties of a paralegal in that professional environment
- Apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to the professional world
