About the Course

Ethical rules and guidelines applicable to legal professionals, including the sources of ethical rules and model codes. Hypothetical and actual case studies will focus on common ethical dilemmas, highlighting those areas most affecting the legal professional, including the unauthorized practice of law, client confidentiality, conflicts of interest, advertising and solicitation, fees, client funds, and competence. You will also discuss the role of the legal assistant in the delivery of legal services, and learn to understand the difference between licensing and certification.
