About the Course
The course is constructed on the notion that African-centered education is the mechanism needed to lead to the freedom, sovereignty, and liberation of African people and on the central question of how we can most effectively implement an educational structure that centers the history, traditions, rituals, philosophy, contributions and lived experiences of Black people as the focal point of their education in both the US and the African continent. ONLY students traveling to Ghana, Africa, for the ADES 2024 Summit, “Colonization to Sovereignty: The Future of Educating the African Diaspora - 2022-2032,” from September 27 to October 6, 2024, and those who attended the ADES 2022, "Reclaiming African Sovereignty through African-Centered Education" conference should enroll in the course.
