About the Course
The Business of Cannabis sequence prepares learners to anticipate and adapt to trends in cannabis business and industry. Course I introduces learners to product innovation, behavioral economics, financial strategy, marketing, and challenges with Sustainability from seed to sale. The course begins with an overview of broad commercial cultivation topics that include how to build capital, investment and banking, cost benefit analysis, challenges for commercial operations and infrastructure with regard to harvesting indoors and outdoors as well as employee roles and scale. Learners then focus on sector-specific enterprise challenges in processing, extraction, and manufacture; labs; distribution; retail and delivery, and licensing. Particular emphasis is placed on business ethics and the challenges encountered at the state, national, and global level.
