About the Course
Introduces students from different disciplines (physical, biological, engineering, finance, economy, humanities) to data science techniques and applications. Provides background knowledge in data science, and prepares students for a career in this field. Provides basic knowledge to continue on to more advanced topics in data science and apply it to practical problems.
This summer session, college-level course is open to entering eleventh and twelfth grade high school students with a minimum 3.5 GPA. UCR's NASA MAA LaunchPad program provides a scholarship opportunity for qualifying students.
The deadline to apply and qualify for the scholarship, is Wednesday, July 6.
The online course will run for four weeks from July 12 through August 11, with live sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-12 PM, plus an additional 4 hours of asynchronous work weekly. Students who successfully complete the course will earn 4.0 units of University of California credit.
