GATE Conference: Celebrating 30 Years of Making Powerful Connections

Course Number: EDUC X328.22E

1 units

Join us for a one-day conference to take a look at yesterday's history and tomorrow's promise of GATE learning. This is a chance to connect with colleagues, gain valuable information and insights from our distinguished Keynote Speakers, and participate in focused workshops, led by seasoned UCR Extension GATE instructors. Dr. Sue Teele, Associate Dean Emeritus and the founder of UCR Extension's GATE Certificate program, will share her knowledge about Multiple Intelligences, and give out signed copies of her most recent book. The original GATE program staff returns, and representatives of the California Association for the Gifted (CAG) are on hand to talk about CAG, and the newest approaches to GATE learning.

Workshop topics include:

  • critical thinking skills
  • thematic interdisciplinary teaching
  • technology
  • components related to differentiation of instruction for GATE learners
  • Makerspace learning
