ESL Low Beginning

This is a lower beginning level English class in which you will develop basic reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar skills. You will practice English skills and language to complete everyday tasks. Practice skills like:

  • giving introductions and greetings
  • asking for and giving personal information
  • describing places
  • shopping

Course topics may include jobs, school, family, entertainment, exercise, and free-time activities.  You will also read basic texts, work on projects, and give short presentations.

Candace Jorgensen, M.A., Education with TESOL Emphasis, also holds TESOL and TEFL Professional Certificates, and specializes in teaching English pronunciation skills. Her own world travels, plus studying in other countries, inform her understanding of student needs and the challenges of learning second languages.  Ms. Jorgensen also speaks French and Danish.
