About the Course
Learn about and practice the "segmental" and "suprasegmental" elements of English. Segmental elements of English include consonant and vowel sounds, and suprasegmentals include stress, rhythm, focus words and intonation. Apply your knowledge to various speaking contexts, with a focus on producing highly comprehensible speech, and on identifying and correcting instances of mispronunciation. Make an academic presentation to peers, and take the SPEAK test, an institutional speaking assessment.
