“I take classes to further my knowledge and skills about a variety of topics, and I have enjoyed every course I completed at UCR Extension. The field study courses that led to my Professional Certificate in Field Geology have been outstanding. I had the opportunity to learn, explore our community, and meet many wonderful like-minded people who share the believe that lifelong learning is an integral aspect of work-life balance.”

Instructor Spotlight

“Many of my most memorable learning experiences have come from the classes I took over the years: chasing insects above UCSB, searching for rare plants in the Mojave Desert, or studying tropical ecology in Costa Rica. To now teach these classes and take students to the Desert Studies Center, Joshua Tree, the Channel Islands, or to the bird rich sky islands of Southeast Arizona are amazing opportunities that mean the world to my students.”
