To better reflect this breadth and impact, UCR University Extension has become UCR Professional and Global Education.
This new name more clearly communicates who we serve, what we offer, and the outcomes our learners achieve while continuing our long-standing connection to the University of California, Riverside.

Will my certificate or transcript show the new name?
During the transition to UCR Professional and Global Education, updates to systems and documents are being implemented gradually. As a result, some certificates, transcripts, or official letters issued during this period may still display our former name, UCR University Extension.
Things to Know
- These documents remain official and valid and reflect the same institution and academic achievement.
- Previously issued transcripts, certificates, or official letters received by students or third parties displaying our former name remain accurate and valid.
- Documents will not be reissued solely due to our institutional name change. Reissuance will only occur if there is an error unrelated to our name change.

However, students may still request a reprint of previously issued certificates should they need an additional copy.
- This will incur a reprint/reissuance fee, which the student must settle prior to release.
- Depending on timing, the reissuance may display either our former or current institutional name.
Will admissions or enrollment processes change?
No. Existing processes remain the same unless otherwise communicated.
Does this affect current students?
No. Students will continue their studies as planned.
Will instructors or staff change?
